نبذة
What uqudo does uqudo operates a unified financial crime prevention platform built for the Middle East and Africa. It covers three connected areas of risk: Identity, confirming who someone is at signup and at every interaction after it. Fraud, detecting threat signals in real time across the session. Compliance, keeping anti money laundering and counter terrorist financing obligations current rather than frozen at the point of approval. The company was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Dubai. Its founding team came from government-scale national identity work, and that background carries into how the platform handles regional documents and large rollouts. Two national-scale programmes have been delivered to date. How the platform is built Five modules sit on the platform: * KYC and digital onboarding. Document scanning, NFC chip reading across 156 passport types, liveness detection, biometric matching against 80+ facial landmarks, and 1:N face search that catches one person opening several accounts. Deepfake and injection attacks are picked up at signup. * AML screening. Coverage of 1,700+ sanction lists, 1.7M+ politically exposed persons and 3B+ adverse media articles, with fuzzy matching tuned for Arabic and Kurdish transliteration and ongoing monitoring after approval. * Device intelligence. Around 1.5B devices are screened each year, with recognition holding above 99.9% through reinstalls, factory resets and OS changes. Emulators, cloners, GPS spoofers, autoclickers and hooking are all detected, and identifiers are derived without collecting personal data. * Transaction monitoring. Real-time detection across channels, graph analysis for mule and layering patterns, case management through to reporting, and a no-code rule builder that leaves rule changes with the compliance team instead of in a vendor queue. * Authentication. Passwordless login, biometric authentication, FIDO2, and biometric confirmation of transactions in place of one-time passwords. These do not run as separate tools. Signals move between them, so a weak flag raised during a document check can lift the threshold applied at screening, and the device history recorded at signup is available when the same account requests a payout months later. Three operational layers sit across every module: orchestration with rules and machine learning, unified alerts and case management, and dashboards for live performance and reporting. Built for the region it serves Models are trained on regional fraud patterns, document variations and language data, including 10M+ regional face samples. The platform reads non-ICAO Middle East ID cards and GCC NFC chips that global vendors typically miss. Data residency is an architectural decision rather than a configuration setting, with in-country hosting in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and regional data centres serving other markets. Who uses it uqudo serves 13 verticals including banking, telco, buy now pay later, money remittance, securities and commodities exchanges, crypto, lending, marketplaces, social platforms, mobility, hospitality, events and digital insurance. Clients include Bank of Kigali, National Bank of Fujairah, Sohar Bank, Bank Nizwa and Oman Arab Bank in banking, du and Asiacell in telco, Dubai Financial Market and Nasdaq Dubai, ADX and CFI across exchanges, Dahabshiil, YAP and Comera Pay in remittances, Rain in crypto, Dubizzle in marketplaces, and Doha Insurance. Why organisations consolidate onto it The commercial argument is straightforward. A single journey stitched together from five or more vendors produces contracts and dashboards that never join up, and nobody to hold responsible when something fails between them. Replacing that arrangement with one platform, one contract and one accountable party.
