The Iraqi Insurance Bureau was established under Insurance Business Regulation Law No. 10 of 2005. It is responsible for regulating and supervising insurance and reinsurance companies, foreign insurance branches, insurance and reinsurance brokers, agents, experts, and licensed insurance service providers operating in Iraq. The Bureau works to strengthen the insurance industry, ensure legal, financial, and technical compliance, promote fair competition, enhance market stability, protect policyholders, and support the role of insurance in protecting individuals, property, and the national economy.
