Iraq’s Statistics and GIS Authority Finalizes Preparations for ITEX IRAQ 2026 and Its Annual Specialized Statistical Conference
Iraq’s Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority is advancing its technical and organizational preparations for participation in ITEX IRAQ 2026, with Chairman Dr. Diaa Awad Kadhim reviewing the final preparations for the Authority’s interactive pavilion and its annual specialized statistical conference, to be held as part of the exhibition at Baghdad International Fairground from 30 September to 3 October 2026
The Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority of Iraq is preparing to participate in the fifth edition of ITEX IRAQ 2026 as part of its efforts to advance comprehensive digitization and adopt modern technologies in statistical operations, data management, and access to development indicators.
As part of the preparations, Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Diaa Awad Kadhim, chaired an expanded meeting to review the logistical and technical arrangements for the Authority’s participation in ITEX IRAQ 2026, as well as preparations for its Annual Specialized Statistical Conference.
The meeting was attended by the Authority’s Deputy Chairman, Directors General, and the Director of the Publishing and Media Center. Discussions focused on the technical readiness of digital platforms, interactive screens, and smart Geographic Information System GIS maps that will showcase the results of Iraq’s General Population and Housing Census and the Authority’s various statistical activities to visitors and official delegations.
Dr. Diaa Awad Kadhim emphasized that participation in ITEX represents a strategic opportunity to demonstrate the technological progress achieved by the Authority and to reflect its commitment to comprehensive digitization and the provision of development indicators in accordance with the latest international standards.
Director of the Publishing and Media Center, Ms. Nidaa Hussein Abdullah, stated that organizational and media preparations are progressing smoothly according to the approved schedules and plans. She noted that the interactive pavilion and conference programme have been designed to reflect the Authority’s identity and its modern approach to digitizing statistical work and strengthening knowledge exchange with decision-makers, researchers, and society.
The Authority’s participation forms part of the wider government and institutional presence at ITEX IRAQ 2026, which provides a platform for showcasing digital transformation projects, modern government systems, data applications, artificial intelligence, and technology solutions, while promoting cooperation between government institutions, the private sector, and specialized technology companies.
ITEX IRAQ 2026 will take place from 30 September to 3 October 2026 at Baghdad International Fairground, bringing together government institutions, Iraqi and international companies, experts, and specialists across telecommunications, technology, and digital transformation.
